Sorry,
quite some time passed since i\'ve made a post. Short after i wrote about my paragliding trip in Jinan i couldn\'t access my blog anymore. Thanks to the \"great firewall of China\"! Seems all these Blogspot places were jammed. Why not hiring a bunch more students to make cover up comments on these mean and evil blogs out there and let the other 99.9% bloggers out there be happy. Anyway, if it would make sense, they wouldn\'t do it this way...
Never mind,i finally found a way to get arroungd the great firewall and pick up writing again.
It\'s gotten cold lately in Shanghai. A lot of rain and a big drop in the temperature have brought the winter. The heating is now constantly on, at least that little time i am at home. I\'ve been pretty busy travelling arround in China the last couple of weeks on business. I\'ve also been in Taiwan visiting my friends and trying to go for flying. Except for the flying wich didn\'t happen, the visit was a blast. Full moon camping, dinner parties and other tasty things. As i found out on my welcome party, i am still very popular in Taiwan, even people wich were not welcome showed up!
Otherwise, nothing special here in Shanghai. Busy at work. No flying at all. I don\'t even remember the color of my glider! At least i do have a few paraglider movies, so i can at least see how it could be. I though hope, i\'ll get some flights over christmas back home.
So, since i can access my blog again, i\'ll try to write frequently again. Check back and leave some coments!

First flight in China

Last weekend i got my first flight in China wich was in the mountains outside Ji Nan, Shandong Province, about half way between Shanghai and Beijing. It was a really nice and also necessary change from the concrete blocks in Shanghai. Flying was awesome. Check out the pics under this link (copy/paste,didn't work otherwise):

Endlich nicht mehr obdachlos...

Aloa!
Endlich bin ich nicht mehr obdachlos. Also nicht dass ich das je richtig gewesen waere, aber ein Hotelzimmer ist ja auch kein richtiges zu Hause.
Ich habe endlich letzte Woche eine Wohnung gefunden die mir gefallen hat und die ich dann auch gekriegt habe. Ich woohne nun so ziemlich dowtown mitten in der French Concession, der ehemaligen franzoesischen Zone in Shanghai. Hier gibt es eigentlich alles was man braucht. Zu Fuss bin ich in 2 Minuten in der U-Bahnstation. Dann hat es einen Supermarkt der allerlei importierte Lebensmittel hat, Shopping Malls, Fitnesscenter und besonders wichtig, Bars, und zwar jede Menge davon. Mir fehlt es also an nichts hier.
Die Wohnung liegt im 31 Stock, mit Aussicht auf die ganze Stadt. Zudem hat es in der Kueche einen Geschirrspuehler, was mir natuerlich sehr entgegen kommt. Zwei mal woechentlich kommt die Putzfrau die im Mietpreis inbegriffen ist und die Waesch bringe ich in die Waescherei die im gleichen Gebaeude ist. Bei taeglich 45 Minuten pro Arbeitsweg und 10 stunden im Buero ist das ganz angenehm, ansonsten wuerde ja keine Zeit mehr bleiben um die Gegend zu erkunden.
Mit fliegen war bis jetzt noch immer nichts. Am Mittwoch werde ich jedoch das Treffen der Piloten besuchen und hoffe da mal etwas mehr in Erfahrung zu bringen. Ich habe ja jetzt schon viel Nonsens geschrieben und hoffe doch bald mal etwas interessantes schreiben zu koennen.
Ich moechte hier noch eine Beschwerde in richtung Stumpy the terrible machen: Ich finde es ja gar nicht cool wenn man mir ein Mail schickt mit der Mitteilung dass es fuer das Duenen Camp noch freie Plaetze hat, ich haette vor lauter aerger in den Tisch beissen koennen;-)! Wuensche trotzdem viel Spass beim "saendele"!

i arrived in Shanghai on tuesday last week. Wednesday morning i had my first day at work, with no sleep at all. It seems, that the older i get the jetlag is harder on me. So far i've seen very little from the city. I've spent more time in the office so far. On Friday i went to see some appartments. There are some nice places to live arround here but i haven't made a decision yet. I'll go to check out more places next week with a different agent, just to see what they have to offer.
Nightlife in Shanghai is a blast what i've seen so far. Quite something going on here. But, drinking is a expensive sport here, let me tell you that. USD 8.00 for a beer, that let you drink the beer slowly, at least the first couple bottles...
Otherwise, it's pretty packed, let's say roughly 15 to 20 million people or so. Qiute difficult to find your privacy here.
Nothing about flying so far. The meeting from the local pilot's on the first wednesday of the month. Until then i'll certainly have to wait to get some infos about flying. Until then i'll just keep on discovering the city, working, looking for appartments and trying to arrange my live again. Currently i'm just happy not to get lost here.

So,
Ich habe ja ganz vergessen noch etwas von der Robair Sommerparty zu erzaehlen. Ist ja eigentlich auch gar nicht noetig, war eh langweilig, die Laendlerkapelle war zum davonrennen und vom Pfefferminztee habe ich Durchfall bekommen...
Nun gut, wer den quatsch glaubt den ich gerade geschrieben habe, der soll sich doch bitte bei der Firma mit dem grossen, orangen M zum Kurs "Seidenmalen fuer Junggesellen" anmelden...
Also, da jetzt nur noch der harte Kern dabei ist kann ich ja loslegen.
Die Robair Sommerparty fand am Samstag den 29. Juli im Pfadiheim Enenda statt. Roebi und Thomas (in Insiderkreisen auch "Stumpy the Terrible 1st Emperor of Switzerland" genannt) und noch ein paar andere mehr oder weniger freiwillige Helfer haben ganze Arbeit geleistet das Pfadiheim Partytauglich zu machen.
So ging es also los mit einer Bowle fuer die man ja eigentlich schon mal haette einen Waffenschein beantragen muessen. Geruechten zu folge haetten die Fruechte schon einige Zeit vorher Schwimmstunden bekommen. Anders kann ich mir nicht erklaeren woher all die froehlichen Gesichter hergekommen sind...
Nun war es langsam an der Zeit fuer die Band auch mal was fuer das Freibier zu tun. Ich glaube nicht zu uebertreiben wenn ich hier sage dass Chris der kleine Norweger (aka Troubadix) und sein Kollege an der Gitarre absolut Geil gespielt haben. Auch das Casting zu Robair sucht den Superstar haben sie geduldig ueber sich ergehen lassen. Es waren ja auch richtige Gesangstalente bei dem Casting anwesend. Wobei der eine mit seiner Groesse auch in die Mini Playback Show gepasst haette. Aber man muss hier sagen, dass besonders die RSDS Einlage zu tosendem Applaus gefuehrt hat.
Nachdem die super gute Pasta restlos Ausverkauft war hat sich das ganze dann bunt gemischt. Es wurde rege diskutiert, geprahlt und wie ich spaeter erfahren habe, auch Alkohol getrunken.
Am anderen Morgen hat dann der eine oder andere einen schweren Kopf gehabt und / oder war von den zahlreich anwesenden Muecken so ziemlich ausgesaugt.
Super Essen, geniale Musik, bomben Stimmung, bis zum naechsten mal...mit Mueckenspray und Aspirin!

It's moving slowly...

As you see, there is not too much happening here. I'm currently pretty busy organizing thousands of important, unimportand and questionable things before i move to Shanghai.
After 3 month moving between Germany, during the week for training, and Switzerland, on weekends for flying and chillin', i am pretty happy to move out into the big world again. Not that i don't like spending every weekend at home flying my ass off, it's more the time i spend in this big neighbur country north of my home that i'm getting really tired of...It's time to move on!
Tough, i really gonna miss that time with my drink...oops flying buddies in Switzerland.
I'm really wondering how flying in mainland China is going to be?! It's gonna be a nightmare travelling to the flying sites fron Shanghai on the weekends. But hey, if there is flying, it's worth going through the troubles and i am willed to go through them no matter what...
Sorry to all the people that have been waiting for my flying reports from Taiwan. After i wrote the first story, a bunch of very stupid things happend in the flying scene in TW and i really didn't feel like writing about it. Now, i opened a new chapter in my life as a "wanna-be-bird" and i'll let you know about it! Check back soon...
